Have a Book Written
For journeys, adventures, rallies, expeditions, life stories and special projects that should become more than a few pictures, short posts or a folder full of videos.
I help turn real experiences into a book: as a background author, as a remote writing companion or, for suitable projects, directly on the road.
Many teams have a cameraman. Almost nobody has an author on board.
What this is about
Some stories do not start at a desk. They happen on the road: on bad tracks, at borders, in exhausted conversations, during breakdowns, in conflict, in wrong decisions and in moments that everyone later remembers differently.
That is where an author becomes valuable. This is not about producing just any text. It is about finding out which story really carries, which scenes must be told honestly and which parts need context or discretion.
The focus is travel, adventure and real experience: long-distance drives, off-road journeys, classic car or rally projects, expeditions, unusual life paths, as well as company and project stories with a strong narrative core.

Remote writing support
You send photos, voice messages, notes, daily reports, videos and memories during or after the journey. I sort the material, ask follow-up questions, find the thread and turn it into reports, chapters, a book structure or a complete draft.
This suits people who already have material or want to report regularly while travelling, but lack clear language, structure or time for a book.
Author in the team
For suitable projects, I can also travel with the team. This requires a prior meeting, a clear goal, realistic planning and personal chemistry.
Then I do not merely write afterwards. I observe on the road, secure scenes, conversations, turning points and undertones, and think about the later book from the start.
Why not simply use AI?
AI can turn existing material into text. That is useful. But it was not there. It does not know when a conflict in the team is just bad mood — and when it becomes the real scene of the journey.
An author on site notices undertones, avoidance, fatigue, tension, fear, ego, wrong decisions and real turning points. He can judge what must be told, what should be softened and what will later carry a book.
AI writes from material. An author recognizes which material matters in the first place.
Why me?
My experience is not theoretical. At the age of 20, I cycled back from Africa to Bavaria, travelled by VW bus as far as Ziguinchor in southern Senegal, gained repeated off-road experience in Iceland and drove four-wheel-drive vehicles in sand, on poor tracks and in the Scandinavian winter.
I have also travelled through Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Russia and Georgia, visited China several times in recent years, have alpine rope experience and am a passionate drone pilot.
I also bring physical discipline, resilience, calm under pressure, experience in the controlled handling of difficult situations and safety-conscious handling of demanding equipment.
I am not a security service and not a substitute for professional support in risk areas. But anyone who brings me into a demanding project does not just get a writer, but an author who is not immediately out of place outdoors.
Reference
I turned my own rally to Tajikistan into a book: 13,000 kilometres, 14 countries, Bavaria to Dushanbe, an old Suzuki, border crossings, gravel tracks, the Pamir Highway, breakdowns, detours and a finished book. The second book is about a three-week trip through China with my partner, which I wrote directly during those three weeks.
It became more than a manuscript: e-book, paperback, hardcover, book-trade edition, dedicated book page and the beginning of an audio version as a podcast. I know not only the writing, but also the path to publication.

Frequently asked questions
What can an author on site do better than AI?
AI can turn existing material into text. But it was not there. It does not know when a conflict in the team is just bad mood — and when it becomes the actual scene of the journey. An author on site notices undertones, fatigue, avoidance, tension, wrong decisions and real turning points.
Do you really travel with the project?
Yes, for suitable projects. This requires a prior meeting, a clear goal, realistic planning and personal chemistry. A shared journey only works if there is trust and the roles are clearly defined. Remote support is also possible.
What kinds of journeys or projects is this for?
For unusual journeys, rallies, expeditions, off-road trips, classic car projects, sailing trips, motorcycle or motorhome adventures, company journeys with a story or private life journeys with real narrative value. This is not about normal holidays, but about projects that should later become a book, talk, report, press text or publishable story.
Is this ghostwriting?
In some cases it can be similar to ghostwriting. I understand it more as commissioned authorship: listening, structuring, asking, writing, condensing and turning material into a real book. Whether I am named as author or work in the background depends on the project and must be clarified in advance.
Does it have to be a travel book?
No. The focus is travel, adventure, rally and expedition. Life stories, company stories and project stories with a strong narrative core are also possible. The decisive question is not the label, but whether the material can become a story that carries.
An enquiry makes sense if there is a real project: journey, rally, expedition, life story, company project or material that should become a book.
Helpful details are the goal, timeframe, route, existing photos or notes, desired result and approximate budget.
